Brian Boyko, Founder

Brian Boyko received an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas in 2005 – his Master’s Report was on the then emerging blogosphere and how it affected journalistic communication.  From 2005-2006 he worked full time as associate editor of HardOCP.com, where he was responsible for extensive computer reviews based on hands-on testing, where his articles on the Dell XPS 400, and the Linux Operating systems were huge hits which helped the site greatly.

In 2006, Boyko would begin a three year stretch as the editor of NetworkPerformanceDaily.com, the company blog of network monitoring solutions and service provider NetQoS, where he was successful in placing stories, raised the site’s RSS feed readership, and earned praise from those in the tech industry.  The highlight of that career was when his coverage of the Julie Amero case helped secure a new trial for the wrongly convicted woman.

In the meantime, Boyko branched out into videography, both for NetQoS and for other clients, and became a viral video producer and director for GeeksAreSexy.net; a site he had done freelance writing for.  Several videos, including “Fish on a Volvo,” became viral video hits with over 380,000 combined views.

In 2010, following the acquisition of NetQoS by CA, and a short time working overseas in New Zealand, Boyko decided to start Blogphilo New Media.
